Aadhaar Card Update: The Aadhaar card remains an essential document for obtaining a variety of services such as school admissions, banking, and government subsidies. However, mistakes in statistical data, such as name and residence, often lead to various issues. To address this, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free online demographic changes through the MyAadhaar portal until June 14, 2026. Aadhaar subscribers can now upload identification and address proof documents online for free. It is worth noting that biometric updates still require a visit to the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra and involve additional expenses.
UIDAI is also preparing to develop a new mobile application that will allow customers to perform updates more conveniently from home. This software will allow you to modify your address, phone number, and date of birth, as well as share your Aadhaar using a secure QR code. Furthermore, the next digital process will incorporate other official documents such as birth certificates, driver’s licenses, and PAN cards to improve identity verification and lower the risk of fraud. The new initiatives aim to improve the user experience, ensure data security, and reduce the requirement for physical visits to Aadhaar centres. Users can contact UIDAI’s toll-free number at 1947 or via email at help@uidai.gov.in with any questions.
