Kamal Kaur Bhabhi Murder: Is Killing In The Name of “Protecting Culture” Justified?

Kamal Kaur Bhabhi Murder:  The murder of controversial Punjabi social media creator Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, aka Kanchan Kumari, has shocked the state. The investigation revealed that the murder was carried out on the order of Amritpal Singh Mehron, who absconded to the UAE soon after the murder. He is known as a vigilante of Sikhism who justified the killing of Kaur in the name of ‘protecting culture’ because her content is questionable to their religious sect.

Mehron now finds his name glorified in parts of Punjab as “Kaum Da Hero”. But the incident provokes a bigger question that Kamal Kaur’s content is objectionable, why were lakhs of people consuming it, and is killing in the name of protecting one’s faith really justified?
