Salman Khan Makes A Sexist Reason For Not Marrying, Is It Acceptable?

Salman Khan Wedding Remark:  In the first episode of the latest season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Salman Khan made some sexist remarks on the question of his marriage. 

We all know the obsession of fans and media with Salman Khan’s wedding. So once again, when the question was brought up, his remarks did not sit well with some of the audience. 

In his answer, he said that in today’s day and age, couples do not have the sort of understanding to stand in a marriage. Later, he quotes some trivial reasons for divorce, further adding that after divorce, giving alimony is also a reason not to marry.

His sexist comment demonised women on national television, but also showed how we as a society have normalised it. Is it acceptable for a star with immense stardom and influence to make such sexist comments so casually?
