CJI NV Ramana to administer the oath to nine new judges:

Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana will administer the oath of office to nine new judges, including three women judges, as judges of the Supreme Court on Tuesday i.e., today. While it is for the first time that 9 judges together will take oath for the first time in Supreme Court, and with this, the total count of Supreme Court judges will reach 33.

The 9 judges to take oath today in Supreme Court include- Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Justice Hima Kohli, Justice BV Nagarathna, Justice CT Ravikumar, Justice M M Sundresh, Justice Bella M Trivedi, and Justice PS Narasimha.

1. Justice Abhay Sheerniwas Oka:

Born on 25th May 1960, the 61-year-old judge, Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka is a former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court and a Judge of Bombay High Court. Justice Abhay Oka will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

2. Justice Vikram Nath:

Born on 24th September 1962, the 58-year-old judge, Justice Vikram Nath is a former Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court and a Judge of Allahabad High Court. Justice Vikram Nath will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

3. Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari:

Born on 29th June 1961, the 60-year-old judge, Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari is a former Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court, Andhra Pradesh High Court, and a Judge of Madhya Pradesh High Court. Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

4. Justice Hima Kohli:

Born on 2nd September 1959, the 61-year-old judge, Justice Hima Kohli is the former Chief Justice of Telangana High Court and was the first woman judge to hold that office. Before this, Justice Hima Kohli has also served as a Judge of Delhi High Court. Justice Hima Kohli will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

5. Justice BV Nagarathna:

Born on 30th October 1962, the 58-year-old judge, Justice BV Nagarathna is the former judge of Karnataka High Court and the daughter of former CJI E.S. Venkataramaiah. Justice BV Naharathna will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

6. Justice CT Ravikumar:

Born on 6th January 1960, the 61-year-old judge, Justice CT Ravikumar is the former Judge of Kerala High Court. Justice CT Ravikumar will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

7. Justice MM Sundresh:

Born on 21sts July 1962, the 58-year-old judge, Justice MM Sundresh is the former third senior-most judge of Madras High Court. Justice MM Sundresh will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

8. Justice PS Narasimha:

Born on 3rd May 1963, the 57-year-old judge, Justice PS Narasimha is the former Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Justice PS Narasimha will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

9. Justice Bela M Trivedi:

Born on 10th June 1960, the 61-year-old judge, Justice Bela Trivedi is the former Judge of the Gujarat High Court, and the Additional Judge of the Rajasthan High Court. Justice Bela Trivedi will today take an oath as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
