The BJP has won a bumper victory in the Gujarat Assembly Elections. The party has got 156 seats. The first assembly elections were held in Gujarat in 1962, after that this is the biggest victory of any party to date. In this election, BJP not only broke its record of winning 128 seats but also crushed Congress by getting more seats than the 149 seats it got in 1985.

BJP captured 86 percent seats

Bharatiya Janata Party has won 156 seats. Accordingly, the party has captured 86 percent seats in the state. This is also a record that BJP has so far captured such percentage of seats in Gujarat. Not only BJP has a record of 156 seats in Gujarat, but no other party has won so many seats in the state assembly elections. Earlier, only Congress had won 149 seats, which was a record, but now the same Congress was reduced to 17 seats. At that time, under the leadership of Madhav Singh Solanki, the Congress presented an example of social engineering by taking Kshatriyas, Harijans, tribals and Muslims together.

BJP got double the votes of Congress

Out of 13 SC seats, BJP has won 11, Congress 3. In 2017, out of these Congress won 6 seats, BJP won 7 seats. Congressman Jignesh Mevani, a Dalit, was successful in saving the Vadgam seat. It won 15 out of 19 Muslim-dominated seats. Of these, 6 seats were such, which the party could never win. BJP got twice the votes of Congress, this is the biggest difference between ruling and opposition in any state. Means votes increased by 2.5%, seats increased by 57.
