Uttarkashi Cloud Burst: A cloudburst at Nirkot and Kankrani reported, 3 buried under debris and 1 missing

Uttarkashi Cloud Burst: 

The heavy rain has caused a cloud burst in the Uttarkashi region of Uttrakhand, as a cloud burst was reported in the Nirkot and Kankrani area on Sunday night. From the Nirakot area, the flow of heavy water reached Mando village, where three were buried, as their bodies were recovered by the search rescue team of SDRF and police in the early hours of Monday. At the same time, one person is reported missing in Kankrad, and at present, relief and rescue work is going on in the district. 

While the reports state that three members of a family, including a three-year-old girl, who ran out of the house to escape the floods that came towards Mando village after the cloudburst, were hit by the debris.

At the same time, NDRF has taken the lead in the rescue operation in the Kankradi area. Two houses have been reported to have collapsed and one person is missing in the Kankradi area. 

Electricity supply is stalled in Kankradi, Mustiksaur, Manpur area since Sunday night. Along with this, the communication service has also been discontinued in the area. While the Gangotri National Highway is blocked at many places including Netala, Sugar, Raturi Sera, while Yamunotri National Highway is blocked due to landslides near Dabarkot, Dharasu Band, Kuthnaur.

Electricity supply is stalled in more than 40 villages in the district. More than 20 link roads connecting more than 100 villages have been blocked and it is raining in the area constantly. Water has filled in many houses of Kalani at the Kaleshwar Marg in the Uttarkashi Nagar area.
